3 Pier “Kegs & Eggs” on 02/11/12

We start at the base of the Newport Beach pier. Arrive early (O.K., very early) to try and find street parking or bring change for the meters.
Directions:
5 Freeway to 55-South, follow signs to Newport Beach Pier. (Mapquest “Sharkeez Newport Beach” for exact directions) The address is 114 McFadden Place, Newport Beach, CA 92663.
About the run:
5.75 miles to the Breakers and back to N.B. pier and then another 11.10 miles to Huntington Beach pier and back.
After the run:
We enjoy the best deal in town at Sharkeez for breakfast!! Just $3.75 gets you french toast or pancakes, eggs, bacon, hash browns, and all you can drink mimosas for an hour. Yum!!

Quail Hill Trail Run on 02/18/12

Directions:
From 405 freeway, exit Jeffrey and go north two lights to Alton. Turn left and then right into parking lot. Starbucks is between Ralphs and CVS.
About the run:
We will head out on Jeffrey and take the bridge over the freeway. Run along the path until we get to the Quail Hill Trail. The trail has both dirt and paved options as it climbs up into the exclusive portion of Turtle Rock. Head down Bonita Canyon and make a loop back to the start. The standard loop is 12 miles. You can also do an out and back along the trail. There is water on the trail, but it is recommended to bring some, just in case.
After the run:
Starbucks, Big City Bagels, Chronic Tacos and Juice It Up.

Corner Bakery Run on 02/25/12

Meet at 7:45, start at 8:00

Meet in the parking lot of the Corner Bakery at 17575 Harvard Ave. - Main and Harvard in Irvine.
Directions:
405 north or south, exit Jamboree, head North (towards mountains), turn right on Main Street, turn right on Harvard, turn right into shopping center.
About the run:
This is a good warm-up run for the club race the following day. Run as long or short as you like on the bike path towards Back Bay.

Feb Club Race - Brea 8k on 02/26/12

Location:
Brea Mall is located in the heart of Brea at Imperial Highway and S State College Boulevard.

Directions:
From Orange County:
Head north on the 57 freeway
Take exit 9 for Imperial Highway/CA-90 in Brea
Turn left at Imperial Highway/CA-90
Turn right at S State College Boulevard
Take the first left to Brea Mall Way
About the run:
The Brea 8K Classic is a non-profit race organized by an all-volunteer board. The only goal of the race is to support the students of Brea Olinda High School through the school's academic and band booster clubs. The 2011 race raised nearly $60,000 for the students of Brea.

March Club Race - Newport-Mesa Spirit Run on 03/04/12

10k @ 7:00am, 5k @8:15am

Fashion Island
Newport Beach, CA

Parking is available next to Edwards Newport Theatre at San Miguel and Avocado Dr. Follow signs and directions of volunteers. Due to event day road closures, please enter Fashion Island via San Miguel from MacArthur or Avocado Dr. from PCH. Newport Center Drive will be closed.
Directions:
From Coast Highway
take Avocado Dr north to parking lots adjacent to Edwards Newport Theatre at San Miguel

From the 405 Freeway
exit MacArthur Blvd.,
head southwest.
Turn right on San Miguel Dr.

Arrive one hour before the start of the event to allow time for parking, packet pick-up and warm-up on race day.
About the run:
The Newport-Mesa Spirit Run is an award-winning children's racing event that also hosts an adult 5K, 10K and 15K! Newport-Mesa Spirit Run is a community event that provides all schools in the Newport- Mesa Unified School District the opportunity to share in the event's net proceeds.

Join us in spreading the fitness and the fun to every student in the Newport-Mesa Unified School District! Newport-Mesa Spirit Run provides scholarships for entry fees and bus transportation to the event to underprivileged students in the Newport-Mesa Unified School District.
